I am a freelance historian, researcher and writer; I have a BA in History from the University of London and a Master’s and a Doctorate, both in Modern History, from the University of Oxford. I’ve been teaching, researching and writing about things that interest me, mainly historical, for more than a decade and have published and had my work featured in (among others) the Journal of Contemporary History, Journal of Victorian Culture, History Today, The Tablet, The Independent, The Guardian, BBC television and radio, CBC, PBS, and History News Network.

This blog is part of greycat.org, my personal site. It is intended to provide a place for news and announcements related to the site, to be a home for things that don’t necessarily fit within the confines of greycat.org’s own pages, and to take on a life of its own as a home for interesting information and commentary.

My profile at getCITED can be viewed here (it isn’t up to date yet, but the most important things are there) and you can get a partial list of my publications from the Royal Historical Society bibliography using this search. You can find out much more about me here, and read all about my research, writing and other activities here, see something of my scientific interests here; and you can contact me by clicking here.
