		<description>Kramer's article took away all the respect I had for The New Yorker. Not because I politically object to her views, but because of the dismal job she did discussing the case, being so obvious in her sympathy of El Haj's side without even bothering to explain what her critics' points were. Hinting that Columbia preferred to silence El Haj so that Jews in the City would help it to expand its campus on the expense of poor Morningside Heights residents was a particularly elegant touch.

When certain parts of academia lost touch with reality and will to pursue truth, they simply stopped mattering in the real world. The same goes for certain parts of the media.</description>
